City of Erie Housing Authority project currently being constructed at 14th and Parade Streets. The Housing Authority's $1.9 million Parade Street Mixed-Use Development will contain commercial space and six residential live/work condominium units. Construction is scheduled to be complete in June 2006. The City of Erie is contributing $100,000 toward the project through its HOMES program, and Erie County is contributing $96,000 through its Affordable Housing Trust Fund Program. First preference to purchase the condominium units will be given to current residents of public housing who are ready for homeownership. The development will contain more than 14,700 square feet of finished space, plus six attached garages. It consists of a commercial space of 1,220 square feet at the southeast corner of East 14th and Parade Streets. To the south end will be six residential units. Two of those will have potential for workspace on the first floor for small businesses, ranging from art studios to specialty shops.
